Computational Mechanics Summer School 2018, Texas A&M University

Dr Angeliki Chanteli, postdoctoral researcher working for the Irish Composites Centre (IComp) in the University of Limerick, Ireland was accepted and attended the Computational Mechanics Summer School 2018 that was held at the Texas A&M University, from 23rd July 2018 to 03rd August 2018.. The program was designed for graduate students, postdocs, junior faculty, research scientists and engineers from universities and companies around the world. The main organizer of CMS3 is Dr. Amine Benzerga, professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering, and director of the Centre for Intelligent Materials and Structures. Also, Dr. Ankit Srivastava and Dr. Xiaofeng Qian, Assistant Professors of the Materials Science and Engineering Assistant Professors were co-organizers of this event along with Professor and Presidential Impact Fellow Raymundo Arróyave  who was one the main organizers too. The area of interest was about computational materials science across multiple scales and the program had both theory and lab courses involving the latest applications in materials design. This highly educational environment promotes the exchange of ideas and builds strong relations between the faculty and the students within a platform that promotes the exploration of the latest achievements in the area of material informatics.
